“Could the answer to a better life being staring us right in the face, and in fact be shining a bright light on said face?”- Jay

I have been doing some reading latley on self healing and something that kept coming up was something I was unaware of, and now seems to be everywhere. This something is called sungazing. I was told as a child to not look directly at the sun because it would make me go blind but there is an ancient ritual that is making a huge comeback that says the direct opposite. People are staring into the sun and claiming these benefits:

Reduced to eliminated hunger

Reduced anger, depression, and overall crabbyness

Better eyesight

Better sleep

Better outlook on life

Larger portion of brain used (More than the average 10%)

The key is to only look at the sun during “safe” hours which is up to one hour after sunrise, and one hour before sunset, and to do it slowly- 10 seconds the first day, and work up to 44 minutes. After you reach the 44 minutes you are fully charged and ready to live your life without ever staring at the sun again.

What do you think? Craziness or revolutionary? Can you imagine the benefits of this being true. There are some people who say they have not eaten in months and years due to this practice. What could this do for World Hunger?

I would love to hear your thoughts- I might make this my first social experiment and share my thoughts and progress.

Happy Sunday everyone!

“Am I who I think I am, or am I simply an illusion of thought?” - Jay

Happy Sunday to all who waited out my longer than expected online vacation. How does one make decisions in life when the future is so uncertain. How do you go about your decision making? Do you use the gut and just move forward or do you harbor at lentgh over pros and cons?

When I think about my past decisions, I find the pros and cons list I have done in the past have led to the worst decisions (Hindsight is 20/20 of course) I have ever made.

Tell me your thoughts. :-)

“It is just as easy to be nice, so stop be grumpy and start smiling!”- Jay

Being in the restaurant business, I talk to many people everyday and it is hard to not notice the difference in mood when a customer or worker is in a bad mood and starts saying things that hurts others feelings. The air gets thicker, the ability to smile becomes a little hampered. This all happens even when the incident does not directly affect you.

If we have the power to affect the moods around you, why not give more smiles, say “Good to see you” more, and just plain be nice to everyone you meet. It is simple to do and can have positive consequences on everyone around you and everyone they interact with as well.

Where can you spread the joy today?

PS- Sorry so quiet lately. I am trying to reinvent myself and once I get a grasp on things I hope to bring Inner Noodle back to at least 3/4 life. I miss you all and thank you for your patience! Talk to you soon!

“As soon as you get it the fast ball down, life throws you a curve ball”- Jay Frawley

If you have not noticed, my smiling noodle has been away from the Inner Sanctum of the blogging world. I went from being the newly self-employed to a 70 hour a week restaurant manager. I did not see it coming really because many things had to fall into place in order for it to happen. Now, I am working non-stop but I get to work my hours with my beautiful wife who runs the restaurant as well.

My ponder today is simply this:

When life throws you a curve ball do you wait on it and hit it out of the park, or are you sitting on another pitch that may never come? (Forgive the baseball reference but even though my Red Sox have started slow it is still baseball season.):-)

“Just like in life, dreams require action in order to rustle them from simple thoughts into life changing events”- Jay

Editor’s note: This is part 9 of a 9 part series. If you missed the first eight posts, please take the complimentary ride on the Inner Noodle Warp: Part 1,Part 2, Part 3,Part 4,Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, Part 8

We have come to the final step. This is the last chapter in most self help books, and for good reason. We must take action. Dreams are no different. Do not get scared; this is not a hard step. The action does not have to be some huge event like running a marathon when your dream says you should run more. It is much more simple than that. Let me introduce you to the dream ritual.

The Dream Ritual

Dreams can be like a spoiled child. If it keeps saying something and you do not listen, it will not just go quiet, it will keep bugging you until you respond. The way to quiet the Inner Noodle is to show it you were paying attention, and you plan on “doing” something about it. Think of it as honoring the dream. Let me give an example.

My Dream:

I was walking in a room, and I could not walk two feet without running into something. I felt trapped. In the end I tripped over my day planner.

The dream ended up telling me I was disorganized and I need to plan my day better.

The ritual:

I looked at my life to see where I could be better organized and notice my day planner sitting on my desk. I saw it but it is underneath a bunch of papers, and other clutter. So to honor the dream, I simply cleaned my desk off and left my planner to have the star spot in the middle. Now, when I wake up I head right to my desk and plan my day. I honored the dream, took a little bit of action, and the cluttered dream was discontinued.

Here is what I suggest:

Look for a small way to honor the dream

It does not have to be a big thing- just something that says “Inner Noodle, I got it, and this is the first step I am taking to honor the dream”. The ritual should take no longer than 5 minutes to complete.

Take conscious action to play out your subconscious request

It is always a plus to meld the subconscious with the conscious. The more awareness we have in life, the smoother our lives will go. This ritual step allows us to blend the two consciousness together which is a priceless step in our noodle’s maturity.

Conclusion

I hope you enjoyed reading this series as much as I enjoyed writing it. I can not believe it is over. This is not anywhere near the end of the dream post on Inner Noodle though. I will get into more depth in all aspects of dream work. The ride has just begun, but we certainly did gain some speed the last 9 weeks. Thanks for coming along! Thank you for all your support.

“If I can create peace with the power of my mind, I see it as my duty to think with a global outlook”- Jay

In 1982, a group of people were trained through Transcendental Mediation to feel peace in their bodies. They were taught to do this in the middle of war torn Lebanon and Israel. At specific times, and certain days when they were at peace, terrorist activities cease to exist, crime rates went down, and emergency room visits declined.

This was an handful of people creating peace among millions.

Can we create peace in this world if we BELIEVE we can?

IS our Noodle capable of global healing?

Happy Sunday everyone!

“Symbols are our Inner Noodle’s way of giving us a novel of information in the time it takes to show us a single word”- Jay

Editor’s note: This is part 8 of a 9 part series. If you missed the first seven posts, please take the complimentary ride on the Inner Noodle Warp:Part 1,Part 2, Part 3,Part 4,Part 5,Part 6,Part 7

We have come so far; welcome to week 8! I have spent seven weeks telling you that dream dictionaries are paper weights, but today I will give you an exception to the rule. There is one dream dictionary that you should keep and peruse often and it will not cost you a penny. This dream dictionary is your personal book of dreams symbols.

Let’s get to the point

Dreams can last 45 minutes, but these dreams are the least common. It is more likely that your dreams will last between 30 seconds to a couple minutes, so time is of the essence. There is no wasted space in the dream world, so every little thing is there for a reason. The blue bird in the room is blue on purpose- the key is to figure out what the color blue means to you.

Can you explain it to me like I was 4 years old

When you are working with symbols, a good way to start is to write it down in your journal and then pretend you are describing the image to a child or to someone who just learned your language. This process will help you come to terms with the symbol’s meaning.

Put together your own dream dictionary

Images in dreams recur often, so a good practice to get into is to write the images in a separate notebook. This will become your personal dream dictionary. This will be helpful for future dream analysis. Of course, dream symbols will evolve as your noodle evolves so this personal dictionary will be constantly edited, however it will always be your true dream dictionary; the only dream dictionary approved by Inner Noodle. :-)

Search the outside world for help

When researching the meaning of symbols, do not always count on just yourself for the meaning. Look at mythology, archetypes, or even the local zoo. If you keep having dreams of lions, do some research on lions. I believe in a collective unconscious. Einstein said he knew nothing, he simply grabbed the information from the ether. I think the same applies to dreams. We all share information unconsciously, so sometimes a symbol may point to this collective knowledge. This is a fun step because it allows you to solve mysteries. I like to think of it as archeology of the mind.

Conclusion

Next week we bring it all together. This is technically the last analysis step this week. Next week is something I do for every dream that I analyze. I hope to see you at the end of this journey next Monday- It has been a pleasure to come this far with you.

Sweet Dreams!

“People put off sleep as if it was a choice we had to go without it” - Jay

So, we have come to the final frontier; sleep. How many of us take this for granted and say things like the quote above? Besides being the dream guy and you can not dream if you do not sleep, I have always been a person that did not let the world affect my sleep. However, I recently went from having all the time in the world to blog to having almost no time, and I was considering skipping some sleep to achieve the same posting regularity. So, last  night I set up my computer at midnight to start my Inner Noodle review, and stared at the clock and then the title on the screen, and something occurred to me. While I do hope people enjoy my post, the only person losing sleep, and the detrimental health that results from the lack of sleep is myself. So, I went to sleep and you know what, nothing bad happen. The economy did not take any dives, no one ended up curled up in a bookstore because the latest issue of the Inner Noodle review was not out. It is was all in my noodle.

Are you giving up the simple pleasures in life like sleep, in order to keep up with your illusioned “need-to” list?

Happy Sunday Everyone!

The Paradox of Free Will

by Jay Frawley on April 2, 2009

Be

Life is simply about choosing the side of free will that will benefit the masses, which of course includes ourselves - Jay

Do you use free will to achieve or deceive?

We have been given a gift. We have been given a curse. Two sides of the same coin.  What side are you choosing? Is there something that is keeping you from succeeding in life? What if everything you want in life can be achieved by making one choice, one big choice?  There is one choice; choose wisely.

So what will it be

I have lived through some tough times in life, and when I look back and search the memory banks for my thoughts preceding those times, they were of scarcity. I lacked an important quality that all of us folks who were raised by parents who knew nothing but scarcity themselves lack. This quality is what the successful people we read about who started with nothing and achieved super human abundance have in abundance. Can you guess what that quality is yet?

What the mind can conceive, it can achieve

The quality is imagination. The reason why 2% of the world hold 90% of the money in this world is because 98% of the people have 2% of the imagination. The poor stay poor because all they see is poverty all around them and they do not use the power of their minds to imagine anything else. My parents just got by, they are still just getting by, and I believe they will leave this world in the same boat, because they chose long ago to use their free will to not accept the abundance they were giving at birth.

Trial basis

You might not believe me, and say I am full of Law of Attraction hooey, so I implore you to try it first. The only thing that you will need to promise to do is believe it will happen. For instance, I believe money is cyclical. The more I give, the more I receive. When I horde my money, the bills come in to take it away, but when I donate more, checks I am not expecting start to pour in. For example, a friend of mine needed $40 to buy some shoes for her little girl. It was the last $40 I had for a couple days, but I did not hesitate. I handed it over, and his little girl look very pretty in her new shoes. When I got home, there was $40 waiting for me in donations from paypal. No joke, no lie. This is what happens when you imagine that you have free will and you choose to use it to believe that you are abundant. This is what you do:

1) Give it away. Choose an amount but give it away with love. No regrets.

2) Say “I give this money away with love, and know that the source will provide me with whatever I need”

3) Smile. You did a good thing. It is ok to be a little proud of yourself for being a good person

4) Expect to see that money again.

The problem with free will is we are so bombarded with negativity these days that we have lost the ability to use free will to achieve the best life we want. Instead, we focus on our problems, money issues, and the world and forget that we are actually doing is adding to the problem by focusing on such negativity. What good can you do by worrying about the future? None, but the thing is, you can make it worse. We are what we think about all the time. It is true, you know it, but you need to practice it. Here is something I say when I have a break and thoughts start to bombard me.

” I am abundance, I am health, I am joy, I am peace, I am love.”

Try it. You will have a very hard time choosing the wrong side of free will after repeating this mantra in your noodle. Let me know what you think.

Inner Noodle’s Guide to Dream Analysis- Step 7

“Am I living my own life, or am I simply an observer”- Jay

Editor’s note: This is part 7 of a 9 part series. If you missed the first six posts, please take the complimentary ride on the Inner Noodle Warp: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5. Part 6

Welcome to part seven. I wanted to start by saying again that these steps do not have to be done in any order or done at all. I hardly ever apply all 9 steps to a single dream. It would take too long to go through every dream this way. Instead I pick and choose which steps to use on certain dreams. It is up to you. However, I would suggest you use step 1, and step 9 every time. What is step 9? In time my friends. :-)

Who am I

This step is one of my favorites because it really shows how dreams can really tell us about ourselves. In dreams the dreamer is always you. However the dreamer, when investigated, is a different you than you are familiar with in waking life. We have spent a lot of time talking about everything else in dreams, today we talk about the dreamer.

In your dreams, what are you doing the whole time? Are you simply an observer, or are you part of the action? In dreams, it is important to find ourselves and determine our role in the dream.  We have many selves in our dreams, and they do not have to look like your waking self. You can be a different race, gender, or even a different species. This often forgotten step is important because the dream ego tells us a great deal about our inner motivations.

The Inner World and the Outer World

The way we are in dreams can symbolize the issues we face in the waking life. For instance, if in a dream you are always observing, this can be trying to tell you that you are not taking a active role in your life; you are letting life pass you by. It is important to ask these questions for your latest dream, and then ask  them again against your current life and see what jumps out at you:

1) Are you a participant or observer?

2) Are you controlling the situation, or are things “happening to you”?

3) What is your attitude about what you are or not doing in your dream?

4) Is your attitude and behavior in your dream similar or different than your waking life?

5) How would the dream change if you changed your behavior?

Pay attention to changes during the dream. You may change into other people in the dream. This may represent changes in your life. You may be going through a life changing event and the Inner Noodle is helping you prepare for these changes. The key is to follow your dream self wherever it takes you. You may find your true self hidden in the images; a self you have been looking for all along.

Conclusion

Short step this week. We are almost there folks. I hope you are enjoying this dream analysis ride as much as I am having writing it. If you can help share the message I would be eternally grateful.
